WELCOME

Hi, I'm Lukas Göbel.

I am a visual artist and photographer, and I have been working professionally in photography and the visual arts for more than 20 years.
My studio, Studio "In de Meer", is a small creative workspace in Amsterdam Watergraafsmeer, just a 5-minute walk from Amsterdam Science Park.

DIGITAL DETOX

University life means a lot of studying, thinking, reading and working behind a screen.

Sometimes it's good to do something completely different.

Come to the studio, get your hands dirty and make something.

No experience is necessary. You can work with guidance, or use the studio as a place to develop your own ideas.

GUIDED LESSONS OR CREATIVE SPACE

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

  • Photography:
Learn to use your camera or smartphone more consciously, or work on your own photographic project.

We can look at composition, technique, visual storytelling and editing, depending on your experience and what you want to do.

  • Cyanotype: The magical, historical process of using sunlight and UV to create beautiful, deep-blue prints (no darkroom needed!).

  • Painting & Drawing: From drawing from observation to abstract painting, mixed media and simply experimenting with materials.

  • Screenprinting: Make your own designs and print them on paper, fabric or other materials.

  • Stencil Printing (Banksy Style): Design and cut your own stencil and turn it into a print using spray paint or rollers.

WHAT COULD A WORKSHOP LOOK LIKE?

There isn't one fixed format.

Maybe you want to learn photography over several sessions.
Maybe you want to make a series of cyanotypes in one afternoon.
Maybe you have your own idea and need a place, materials and someone to help you develop it.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I graduated from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (KABK) and have worked for many years as a photographer for magazines, newspapers and commercial clients, including De Volkskrant, Het Parool and NRC.

I've spent most of my working life making images.

LET'S MAKE SOMETHING

I don't believe in one-size-fits-all workshops.

So before deciding what the workshop should be, I'd like to know what you would like to make.

Maybe you already have a very specific idea.

Maybe you don't know yet.

Both are fine.

The studio is a flexible space, and the workshop can be built around your interests, your experience and the amount of time you have.

Tell me what you'd like to learn, make or experiment with.

You can be as specific — or as crazy — as you like.

LET'S CONNECT!

Feel free to send me a WhatsApp message or a DM on Instagram and come by for a coffee or tea. I'd love to give you a personal tour of the studio, have a chat and see what kind of workshop could work best for you.

Maybe you want to follow a personalized workshop with a group of friends, or maybe you have an idea of your own.

Looking forward to meeting you!
